The Process

THE PROCESS

The process of developing one of my pieces goes through several steps. First the wood must be harvested. Most of the wood I use comes from the pastures around where I live in West Texas. The item that I plan to make will determine the thickness and circumference of the wood that I choose. Then the process continues by placing the wood on the lathe, roughing out the piece (which also includes several steps), sanding, signing, and applying a finish. It is very satisfying to see the beauty of the wood emerge as I work on the piece from start to finish.
